SmrtGuard Announces Public Beta Program

PRINCETON, NJ March 20, 2009 – SmrtGuard is proud to announce the launch of its public beta program for BlackBerry® smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM). The client software and companion website www.SmrtGuard.com are now both available. SmrtGuard allows BlackBerry smartphone users to personally track and remotely wipe their smartphones, to protect them in the event of theft or loss.

Since the private beta began in late 2008, SmrtGuard users have been able to track their BlackBerry smartphones around the world. They have also been empowered with data protection on their smartphones with over the air backup and restore of valuable personal data.

As more and more critical information finds its way into our smartphones we need tools to help safeguard it. SmrtGuard provides consumers with a comprehensive package to protect their personal data and to help recover their smartphone if it is lost or stolen.

The Loved-One-Tracker feature in SmrtGuard allows a trusted individual to locate and track a smartphone, and is useful in a variety of situations. Another notable feature is Personal Guardian, which sends out a distress email, text messages, and makes an emergency call, with the push of a button.

SmrtGuard will be available commercially after the public beta program ends.
