I try to activate SmrtGuard on my BlackBerry, but it "freezes"

Problem

When trying to activate SmrtGuard on the BlackBerry, the activation screen doesn't do anything.


The Possible Causes

There are two possible causes:

    1. App Permission (Fix 1)

    2. Lack of Service Books (Fix 2)


Possible Fixes

Fix 1. Make sure the application are permissioned to be "Allowed" on your BlackBerry.

    1a. Goto Options->Advance Options->Applications-> find and select SmrtGuard and then select "edit permissions".

    1b. Make sure all the item listed are "Allowed". Save any setting changes, do a battery pull. And then try again.


Fix 2. Make sure to resend Service Books

You usually can do this from the place we you setup your Native BB Email.

    2a. From the Email Settings Icon on your BlackBerry, you can resend yourself Service Books

    2b. Call your Nework Service provider to have them resend to you.


Fix 3. Reinstall the SmrtGuard Application

    3a. Reinstall by pointing your BlackBerry Browser to www.smrtguard.com/smrtgota.jsp
